The Purdue football team made the trip to face the Illinois Fighting Illini in a Big Ten Conference contest on Saturday, Oct. 31. 

Purdue defeated Illinois 31-24 in the fourth quarter. 

Purdue improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten. Illinois went to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten.

Illinois Fighting Illini quarterback Coran Taylor threw a 9-yard touchdown pass toBrian Hightower receiver Brian Hightower with 6:36 left in the fourth quarter. It cut the Purdue lead to 31-24.

Purdue cornerback Cam Allen intercepted a pass from Illinois quarterback Coran Taylor with 10:34 left in the third quarter and returned it 12 yards to the Illinois 8-yard line.
