The Peoria County Coroner's Office has identified two people killed at the same apartment complex in separate incidents late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

Trashawn W. Morris, 27, of Peoria was found dead Saturday night in the 3400 block of West Fallen Oak Lane in the Lexington Hills apartment complex. Coroner Jamie Harwood said Monday that an autopsy revealed Morris died of a gunshot wound to the chest, with his death coming within moments of the shooting.

Tonya J. Fuller, 58, also of Peoria, was found dead in the second incident early Sunday morning. Harwood said that she died from multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma injuries throughout her body.

The Peoria Police Department said that they were called to the apartment complex at 10:18 p.m. after they received a report of a man who had been shot. Upon arrival, they found a man with non-life-threatening injuries, having been grazed by a bullet in the back.

A few moments later, they found Morris' body.

Over three hours later, police were called out to another incident at Lexington Hills, this time involving a woman found not breathing in her apartment. When they arrived, they found Fuller's body with multiple apparent stab wounds and other injuries.

The department does not believe that the two incidents are related to each other. PPD is continuing to investigate.
